As far back as roman times, this water was known not only as a beverage, but also as a bathing water. As a matter of fact, in 1860, several wooden tubs were found that dated back to the romans. Since 1500 this exclusive water began to boast importance, insofar as people upon learning of its properties, began to travel to these springs to carry out specific treatment. The first archeological findings regarding the mineral source date back to 1865, when, during the revamping of the main square and the extension of the edifices, under a layer of gravel and peat, the remains of six wooden bathing tubs and the walls of a water heater were found.
